After the Fall of Delhi in 1857, there was a migration of performance artists from the North and West regions of India to Hyderabad which resulted in a blend of North and South Indian culture- an aspect that has prevailed to date.
Hyderabad is steeped in history, and has retained much of its old world charm while burgeoning as a modern contemporary city. Famed for its pearl trade until the 18th century, the City of Pearls is now becoming renowned for its impact in the pharmaceutical, IT, and financial industries.
